is that mr. romney is winning independents. so there. romney has this thing in the bag. karl rove who is running the biggest dark money operation for the republicans this year, and therefore is as influential as ever, mr. rove took to "the wall street journal" this week to patiently explain to all these people who don't understand that these numbers that look so bad for mr. romney do not matter, or they're wrong. or they're wrong and they don't matter. because he says democrats are not winning early voting by enough. and he says the polls make assumptions about turnout that he describes as absurd. it also describes some intangible stuff that makes him believe mitt romney is going to win, things like crowd size and closing arguments. according to him, all of that stuff together shows that mitt romney is totally definitely going to win this thing. both are trying to convince the country it's obvious they are going to win. and i think it is worth listening to these arguments and checking qc if these arguments are based in good sense. but honestly, it's also worth recognizing that every c

is following mr. romney along the trail. so jim, you heard him there. he did -- he went through his five-point plan again, not giving a whole lot of specifics but certainly trying to lay out what he would do if indeed he is elected come tuesday. >> that's right, randi. you know, at this point, it's hard to get all of those specifics out there. i mean, he has been hammering the five-point plan repeatedly for the last couple of weeks of this campaign, and i think by now his supporters probably know what those specifics are, but you're right. i mean, he is laying out his agenda for his first 100 days in office, you might say, but randi, i have to tell you, one of the things we picked up here on the campaign trail in the last couple of days, mitt romney has really gone after what he believes is a weakness in the obama campaign strategy. the romney campaign believes that president obama, and they are making the case is, trying to make the case, that president obama has sort of forgotten his mandate for when he came into office, that he was supposed to bring about this era of post-partisanship

. listen, you all heard what the president and mr. romney had to say, but, you know, let's talk about the political capital here. who is going to get more political capital out of this with just four days to the election, ali? >> well, hands down president obama because he had the most to lose out of this thing. the issue was if the unemployment rate went up substantially, or more importantly if the 171,000 jobs weren't created. the expectation was for 125,000 jobs. as long as he cleared that, he was going to be okay. barack obama gets more out of it. as you can see, he's not emphasizing the unemployment rate when he's speaking. mitt romney is doing that math that doesn't work thing again. barack obama said that the unemployment was going to be this and now it is this and as a result 9 million people are out of work. that's just not math that works. i don't think either of them are convincing anybody right now. this could have hurt barack obama. it is not going to hurt him. i don't know it really helps him a lot. >> yeah. it is kind of a wash when you look at the jobs numbers increase
